Normalmente i piccoli di Germano Reale sono più scalmanati, si allontanano per esplorare, quasi sempre restano ad una distanza di sicurezza; in questo caso la vicinanza di un cigno nero, che già aveva avuto uno scontro con un Germano femmina, ha fatto si che i piccoli rimanessero incollati alla madre.
