Vero Giordano, è lenta, non è scattante come un cervone o una biscia nervosetta. Più placido della vipera è solo il cervone, tranquillissimo.
Una volta però ho abusato un po' della distanza minima. Vipera piccola e infreddolita, trovata in una faggeta all'ombra. Mi sono abbassato per fotografarla al suo livello e a breve distanza (la reflex era ancora a pellicola, una Chinon con un obiettivo forse 22-55, se ben ricordo, erano gli anni '90....). Ho visto un guizzo, un attimo prima sembrava quasi in ipotermia ma lei è scattata verso l'obiettivo a bocca aperta, probabilmente lo ha anche toccato. Non ha preso il mio dito pronto a scattare, per fortuna. Proprio il fatto che lei era torpida e lenta mi aveva fatto sottovalutare la situazione. Da qualche parte conservo la foto (sfocato, lei era ormai sull'obiettivo). Quindi d'accordo con Giordano: almeno un metro...
