La "Mannara" vista in varie puntate del Commissario Montalbano televisivo, è in realtà la Fornace Penna, realizzata tra il 1909 ed il 1912, a ridosso del mare a Punta Pisciotto, presso Sanpieri. Lo stabilimento produceva laterizi che venivano esportati in molti paesi mediterranei; la cessazione dell'attività avvenne durante la notte del 26 Gennaio 1924, a causa di un incendio doloso. Queste rovine, purtroppo in abbandono, hanno un grande fascino e sono oggi una testimonianza di archeologia industriale di grande rilievo. Commenti e critiche sempre graditi.
