I would not have had the courage to make this photo. It 's done in the hospital, too much respect for the pain to exploit it. Excuse me, does not make it a bad photo, what I have written before is just my thought.

@Ezio, @klockword, vi ringrazio per l'inaspettato e piacevole commento.

@Ezio, @klockword, Thank you for the unexpected and pleasant comments.
@Andrea, I respect your opinion, but I find established, consentimelo, I find the term "used" somewhat abused.
Undoubtedly we need a good dose of courage - concept very well expressed by another authoritative writing -
to perform and exhibit certain shots but the order can and should be different from mere "exploitation" (to what end? I do not live in photography!). I consider photography as a useful means of expression to convey and transmit emotions, capable of inducing profound thoughts and that's why the thought expressed by Clockwork flatters me.
In this case, the "pain" showed - but not ostentatious - it's just witnessed, documented, shared.
Unfortunately, the "pain"exists, it is part of our daily lives; We read it in the faces of immigrants, beggars, the homeless, the senzareddito, the sick ... and the list goes on and on. And ways and means to "exploit" are many and among them, permettimelo, certainly not the sharing of a specialized site.
I thank you for giving me the opportunity to point out and clarify.

Very strong. certainly courageous. Agreed on the principle that not "exploit" nothing; leverage means gain an advantage, and you have not done for me. Personally I would not have published, maybe I would call respect. But I'm not judging, it is a personal view, and I respect that, maybe just for you, it might be a memory. Definitely not one of the best possible loved one. However a powerful shot. Goodnight, Matthew.

domenico

A shot that provokes reflection, silence and respect. Respect for life, for suffering, for old age and for those who have lived a life and now is about to conclude, in a perfect and terribly unforgiving cycle. As rightly recalled Matthew, it is a powerful shot. It encompasses everything, gentleness, compassion, anger, love and suffering. Paradoxically, in my humble opinion, there is a visual element that is of unprecedented violence. It distorts the sense of the picture, and that makes you realize immediately that it is not a shot whatever, a sweet sleep I would say. It is the bedrail, which contain and force at the same time.
Dear Domenico, is a beautiful picture. Congratulations to you for having achieved with courage and thank you for having shared with us!
Giuseppe

It 'a heartbreaking beauty. You made me cry. And you're right face expresses sweetness, the urge to stroke it. I do not think this is leverage. Another advantage is. Thank you.

Hello Dominic,

the image has given me unforgettable memories of my remembering.
I could use many adjectives to judge, but I think it could also be interpreted as an image of complaint of many elderly people abandoned by their families because they have weight, for example, or for deficient conditions which should provide a more human welfare. The strong images have meant that some things would change for the better, I could cite many examples. Compliments.

Greetings.

Graziano.

"Non vive ei forse anche sotterra, quando

gli sarà muta l'armonia del giorno,

se può destarla con soavi cure

nella mente de' suoi? Celeste è questa

corrispondenza d'amorosi sensi,

celeste dote è negli umani; e spesso

very powerful picture. It stirs emotions ... excitement and certainly conflicting. Personally I do not see exploitation or mere display of grief. For better or for worse invites us to reflect on the serenity ', the pain, the disease, the cycle of life and old age. Congratulations again for the picture and your openness in wanting to clarify both the pre-shooting choices, both post publication.
