1/30 f/5.2, ISO 160, hand held.

A very poor quality image but one which remains special to me! This was taken more than ten years ago whilst on safari in Kenya - with a 3.2 megapixel camera - an Olympus X350,D575Z,C360Z! It was this trip that fuelled my desire to take better photos..... Dear Ann, these are the best. I defend some bad photos if you like them! ;-)

Your honesty and the enthusiasm gleaned from your realisation means no scorning from me - the mere sight of these fine beasts on safari must have been so exciting anyway! Perhaps, one day, you'll get another chance and get some serious snaps of them?

It was indeed very wonderful, Tim, to be so close to such beautiful creatures with no barriers between us other than the sides of an open top vehicle! I would love to get another chance to see them in the wild and photograph them properly!

Changed the typo in the above, from of to 'from', but I guess you read it as that anyway.

I came back from London last night and am intending going to Poole on first bus. Should be there by about 8.30 a.m.

There's forecast to be showery weather which should be good for dramatic coastal shots.

I've had to replace my mobile and no longer have your number. If you want to meet up, text me - if you still have my number - saying you're Ann and maybe we can shoot some frames together. I'll be down there until about lunchtime, I guess, or a bit longer if you join me. I'll take the 135-400mm lens for you to try and the fisheye too.

You'll need a waterproof coat. Perhaps we could drive to your jetty at Hamworthy that you've snapped a lot. Let me know also if you aren't able, so I know. You'll see that I don't actually look like Dracula, either!
