Il fior di pesco o Cydonia è un piccolo arbusto deciduo da fiore originario della Cina e del Giappone. Costituisce densi ciuffi di rami leggermente spinosi, dalla corteccia verde-marrone, liscia; le foglie cominciano a crescere durante la fioritura e sono di colore brunastro appena spuntate, divengono verde brillante crescendo.Tra la fine dell'inverno e l'inizio della primavera il fior di pesco produce una profusione di fiori di colore rosso-arancione, che continuano a sbocciare per un paio di mesi.
