Quel giorno, fotocamera al collo, stavo vagando fra i resti del castello di San Pietro.
Il complesso, splendidamente ristrutturato di recente, torreggia sul fiume Tagliamento, disteso su uno sperone roccioso in comune di Ragogna. Il lato meridionale del promontorio digrada vertiginosamente verso il parcheggio degli automezzi, in un prato scosceso e recintato. Mentre arrancavo sulla breve erta che conduce al castello avevo già scorto un gruppetto di pecore al pascolo.
Ma solamente in cima, aggirando l'antica pieve del XIII secolo, ho scorto tra i ciuffi d'erba l'inconfondibile sagoma del micione. Probabilmente randagio. In principio, al suono della mia voce, si è posto in stato di allerta. Poi ha familiarizzato ed è tornato ai suoi impegni... Aveva adocchiato qualche insetto o forse una lucertola sul muro di cinta del castello. E mentre io mi sporgevo in giù dal parapetto del muro in cima, il micione si allungava all'insù, infilando poi il musetto in un pertugio fra i sassi...
