Questo è un Murales riprodotto su un grande muro che costeggia il canale Camuzzoni a Verona. L'opera ricalca abbastanza lo stile della prima versione dell'omonimo lavoro realizzato in passato da Caravaggio, ma la scena cambia sostanzialmente; la prima versione dell'opera “San Matteo e l'Angelo” è andata distrutta durante i bombardamenti in Germania durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale e quindi effettuare un confronto tra le due opere è stato abbastanza difficoltoso. Passiamo adesso alla composizione di questo Murales: al centro troneggia la figura di San Matteo, il quale viene ritratto mentre sta scrivendo e la sua posizione lascia intendere che stia ascoltando il suo ispiratore, ovvero l'Angelo; la posizione di San Matteo però lascia trasparire anche una certa fretta da parte di quest'ultimo, quasi come se abbia paura di perdere qualche appunto che gli viene dettato da questa figura divina, e questo lo si può notare anche nello sgabello che non è totalmente stabile. L'angelo sta giungendo dal cielo e proprio mentre sta fluttuando, sembra che stia dettando a San Matteo le parole da scrivere nel libro. La scena è molto buia e i due protagonisti emergono da questa oscurità grazie ai colori molto luminosi sia la veste di San Matteo che quella dell'Angelo, con cui sono stati riportati sulla tela e ben riproposti in questo grande Murales.
