#Red Lycaena phlaeas Nome comune: Argo bronzeo Si tratta di una farfallina con una diffusione vastissima che comprende praticamente tutto l'emisfero settentrionale della Terra. E' dotata di una grande capacità dispersiva comprovata dalla vasta diffusione sulle isole.Presenza costante all'Elba, Giglio, Capraia e Pianosa questa specie risulta poco appariscente poiché ha un volo molto rapido durante il quale i suoi sgargianti colori bronzei non appaiono evidenti. I due sessi sono simili e la mancanza di un netto dimorfismo sessuale rappresenta una rara eccezione fra i licenidi. La larva si nutre in genere di varie specie di Rumice (Rumex spp.).
