Onychogomphus forcipatus , il piccolo pincertail o dagli occhi verdi libellula gancio coda , è una specie di libellule appartenenti alla famiglia gomphidae . Questa libellula abbastanza comune e diffuso è presente nella maggior parte dell'Europa . Gli adulti crescono fino a 60 millimetri (2,4 in) di lunghezza e si possono incontrare vicino all'acqua e laghi che va da giugno a settembre. Il loro ciclo vitale dura circa 3-5 anni. Gli occhi di forcipatus Onychogomphus sono ampiamente separati e gray-to-verde. Le due linee nere laterali del torace sono relativamente stretta e toccano la linea mediana. Ha una linea gialla sul vertice e due celle sopra il triangolo anale. L'addome nei maschi è dotato di tre ganci di grandi dimensioni (appendici anali). Cercoids possono essere buio e hanno un dente subterminale. La base del hindwing è angolata nei maschi e nelle femmine arrotondato. Sottospecie : Onychogomphus forcipatus var.
