Residenza ufficiale dei Savoia fino al 1865, già Palazzo del Vescovo, fu trasformato da Ascanio Vitozzi (1584) per Carlo Emanuele I e successivamente ampliato e ristrutturato con una serie ininterrotta di interventi a cui presero parte i maggiori architetti ed artisti attivi a Torino tra Settecento e Ottocento. Dietro al palazzo ,leggermente sulla sinistra, si può notare la guglia della Cappella della Sindone finalmente "spogliata" dei ponteggi dopo quasi vent'anni dall'incendio, pare che a fine 2017 possa essere riaperta al pubblico.
