Il ponte dei Sospiri è uno dei ponti più conosciuti di Venezia, venne realizzato agli inizi del XVII secolo in stile barocco, e collega Palazzo Ducale all'edificio adiacente destinato alle Prigioni Nuove. Prese questo nome in seguito a una leggenda secondo cui, ai tempi della Serenissima, i prigionieri che lo attraversavano sospirassero davanti alla prospettiva di vedere per l'ultima volta il mondo esterno.
