Good composition and colors very natural, the layer of ice fogged a bit 'sharpness. I focus most of my taste twigs behind, so it seems a bit disturbing, especially the branch cut from leaf. Hello

I liked very much, as you said, the effect of the ice is melting.
I agree that I would have preferred the more blurred branches, but they were very close to the subject and you were wide open.
I would have preferred a little more space underneath, so I look a little 'suffocated two drops of water are falling.

I even wider shots, but with this I have tried to emphasize the moment of frosting that is short-lived.

Thanks for the ride and comment Giancarlo Di Miceli, glad you liked it:-D.
If you have to choose between 70-300mm I suggest the Tamron 70-300mm VC who overcomes all the midrange as the canon 55-250 or 70-300mm. If you intend to have a super-zoom multi-faceted and more suitable for the birds go quiet on the Canon 100-400mm L is usm which is among the smallest and lightest of the lot (120-400mm sigma, sigma 150-500mm).
