E' la sera del secondo giorno. Stiamo rientrando a Twee Riviereen quando a poca distanza dal campo incontriamo alcune macchine. Leopard è la voce che echeggia. Un poco di pazienza e infine scorgiamo un piccolo di leopardo, evidentemente lasciato solo dalla madre a caccia. Si sposta tra i cespugli poco visibile: solo io della mia macchina riesco a coglierlo bene. Un incontro fortunato per noi, l'unico con il leopardo del nostro safari. Ma un pensiero va al piccolo, dal potenziale futuro da cacciatore, ma dall'attuale potenziale status di preda.
