molti anni fa la specie era considerata a rischio di estinzione.
adesso mi pare che si sia ripresa ma certo un uccello che si fa riprendere cosi è fin troppo in buona fede!!
purtroppo molte specie di quei paesi si sono sviluppate senza nemici naturali e quindi all'arrivo dei cacciatori o di predatori
alloctoni sono state sterminate

anni fa la popolazione si era parecchio ridotta,addirittura venivano abbattuti perchè si diceva che mangiassero gli agnelli...
poi la popolazione si è ripresa ma non a sufficienza

il suo fratello di specie invece vive nella foresta ed ha perso l'uso del volo ed è più panciuto. ciao

Parli del kakapo...quello a vederlo non si può andare, è in zone chiuse ai comuni mortali, l'unico visibile si chiama Sirocco, vive in una isoletta del fiordo settentrionale (South island)...non siamo andati
