vi ripropongo la sala baronale con il pdr dalla parte del seggio del barone. sulla sinistra l'altro dipinto chiamato Prodi ed Eroine (Tempera su tela). Le figure a grandezza naturale rappresentano Prodi ed Eroine dell'antichità, personaggi eroici illustri per la loro virtù. Sono nove figure maschili e nove femminili: Ettore, Alessandro Magno e Giulio Cesare (di religione pagana), Giosuè, Davide e Giuda Maccabeo (di fede ebraica), Artù, Carlo Magno e Goffredo di Buglione (cristiani); le regine Delfile, Sinope, Ippolita, Semiramide di Babilonia, Etiope, Lampeto, Tamari, Teuca e Pentesilea. Il tema dei nove prodi si sviluppò nella letteratura cortese e cavalleresca nel XIV secolo; tra XIV e XV si aggiunsero le eroine. Le figure riproducono le serie di Prodi ed Eroine dipinte nel salone del Castello della Manta da un artista ancora sconosciuto (che da loro prende il nome di "Maestro della Manta") per volere del marchese Valerano, intorno al 1420: essi illustrano i personaggi cantati nel poema Le Chevalier Errant, composto nel 1396 da Tommaso III di Saluzzo, padre di Valerano. Le tele della Rocca medievale furono dipinte nel 1884 da Alessandro Vacca.
