Caro Eugenio, questo maschio di Codirosso spazzacamino aveva gli specchi alari bianchi, come di solito? Infatti non tutti sanno - magari tu si - che circa l'88% dei giovani maschi di questa specie appartengono alla comune forma chiamata cairii. Gli esemplari di questo gruppo, dopo la loro prima muta (parziale) presentano un piumaggio marrone "tipo femmina"; circa il 12% invece assume un piumaggio avanzato, che si può riconoscere come maschile, perché è già nero. Tuttavia, non cambiando normalmente le remiganti - o comunque mai tutte! - possiede le ali marroni contrastanti col piumaggio del corpo nero. Sono di solito del tutto assenti gli specchi alari bianchi, tipici dell'adulto o comunque, se ha mutato una o più terziarie o anche secondarie, prese qualche traccia di bianco, però quasi mai un'estensione da adulto e le ali rimangono piuttosto marroni contrastanti e mai nere come negli adulti, che le hanno tutte nere nuove, dal momento che compiono ogni anno, a fine estate, una muta COMPLETA
