London's Oxford Street, the busiest shopping street in Europe, on Saturday 2nd January. Have to be honest, I found this a lot more challenging to get a decent view, composition and shot than the more attractive Regent Street Peacock Feathers, taken about half an hour before. With so many people jostling and pushing and traffic bumper to bumper all sounding their horns - and the rain too! |

Is that what they are Ezio??!! Thank you! |

Congratulations Tim! A shot that tells a party that "lately" has become a bit 'too "commercial" Hello Fabrizio Complimenti Tim! Uno scatto che racconta una festa che "ultimamente " è diventata un po' troppo "commerciale " Ciao Fabrizio |

Well, you succeeded, Tim! Looks like the street is being bombarded with some rather bizarre (very large), other-worldly snowballs! |

Indeed, far too commercial, Fabrizio - but in the quest for attract more customers than their competitors, the scale and colour of the displays get bigger and better - good for us photographers! |

Hmm, Ann - I'm not sure I did - the result is far too slack for my liking, though the chaos of the street typifies the bustle of London well, so on that count, it's OK. I was getting very tired by this point but knew that if I went inside somewhere for a sit down, chances were that I'd not return. As it was I did and refreshed, had a wander round Carnaby Street and their display was wonderful - intimate, colourful and charming. (one of those later) Ezio thought they were planets - it's open to interpretation, I think! |

As you say, it typifies the bustle - all those people in the midst of the traffic! I can imagine that Carnaby Street must have been lovely. I have to be in the right kind of mood to enjoy so much bustle but when I am, I can get a real buzz from it! I've just posted a Paris shot, should you care to take a look :) |
