Ad Urbino, in pieno centro, in via Valerio, nel cortile di un asilo infantile si trova un magnifico PLATANO di 250 anni, alto 33 metri. Il platano è fra gli alberi a foglia caduca più grandi che abbiamo in Italia, insieme al pioppo e al faggio. Si riconosce facilmente dalle foglie palmate e dal tronco chiaro, a volte bianco, con la corteccia che si sfalda a chiazze, con effetto mimetico.
