Quadraro - Il quartiere Quadraro ha pagato con la deportazione del 17 aprile del 1944 la sua indole antinazista. Un migliaio di uomini, dai 16 ai 60 anni, furono prelevati all'alba dalle loro abitazioni dalle SS e portati nei campi di concentramento, dai quali molti non tornarono. È evidente che, oltre a privare le famiglie dei loro cari, i nazisti con questo gesto di rivalsa intendevano ridurre alla povertà l'intero quartiere, che tornò alla vita nel dopoguerra, grazie alla vicina Cinecittà, che portò lavoro agli artigiani, alle osterie e ai tanti cittadini che facevano le comparse e i caratteristi al cinema. Il murale dell'artista statunitense Beau Stanton è dedicato proprio a questa storia che gli hanno raccontato tre anziani testimoni e vittime di quella deportazione e rappresenta un albero che nasce da un teschio. Purtroppo quest'opera, come altre del progetto M.U.Ro risulta attualmente deturpata. ---------- Il progetto M.U.Ro.
