London, yesterday, in the teeming rain. I'm standing in the middle of the street, in the few seconds gap before the oncoming traffic drives forward and the passing of vehicles from right to left. I'd seen a photo of these 'feathers' in Time Out online and thought interesting and sought to challenge myself to capture them myself. If I may say so, I think mine's a little better, but perhaps the endless waiting around, the continuous drizzle and the very wet camera (and feet) - thank goodness for the weather sealing on the D700 (but no such sealing on my feet!) make me feel as if mine's better! But, I actually think that the rain improves the fairytale quality of the lights. Note the guy with the umbrella, the traditional London black taxi in the middle and even an aeroplane flying in at the top! #NightPhotos #Christmas
