Durante un'escursione in Sardegna, in sentieri non segnalati secondo i criteri delle guide alpine, è facile trovare questi mucchietti di pietre, detti "omini", lasciati da chi prima di noi ha fatto quel percorso. Si trovano a breve distanza l'uno dall'altro e stanno ad indicare il tragitto da seguire. Molto spesso sono indispensabili per non perdere l'orientamento. E' buona norma non distruggerli ed anzi ricostruire quelli eventualmente crollati.
