Horned grebe sent on December 21, 2015 (18:01) by Francesco De Luca. 17 comments, 930 views. [retina]

, 1/400 f/7.1, ISO 500, tripod. Specie: Podiceps auritus

Francis, I agree with what you say but that this shooting is technically poor :-); It is otherwise excellent. Horned grebe winters regularly in Italy and I hope to photograph the most like you in winter dress; paradoxically the only photo I have of this subject are in the reproductive (fortunate circumstance sul Garda).

I thank everyone for the transition and appreciation. Francesco (when you see the Garda?): Little detail in whites in the back for insufficient pdc but I could close more; sharpening is a bit excessive but it was necessary to recover some detail. That said, both are not satisfied with the result. A greeting

Garda is wintering in common but not widespread, generally between Torri del Benaco and Riva del Garda on the eastern side, which is what I know. In the mailing list of VR_BW it was reported three days ago (19-XII) in the same place where years ago I photographed the individual dress reproductive Dusano del Garda in the west bank. The hope of course is that it stops again enough and give me another chance.

I am pienamete agree with you regarding the satisfaction to photograph a rare individual rather than a common, but I agree with Francis Sestili in saying that your picture is not all bad in fact the opposite ...... , compliments

Nice subject, no doubt, but with a lens so Francis can not ' please. In my opinion with a view of that level you have to look for everything, rare subjects, but also more ' sharp and detailed photos. Personal opinion that maybe does not share anyone. A greeting Fabio
