Di questa piccola anatra chiamata dai Maori Pateke sono rimasti solamente poco più di 2000 esemplari; sterminata dai predatori terrestri introdotti dall'uomo, sopravvive solo in piccole isole vicino alla Nuova Zelanda, ripulite con grandi sforzi dai predatori quali gatti, ratti e donnole - Specie nuova per il forum....Anas (aucklandica) chlorotis, Tiritiri Matangi, Bay of Islands.
