Santa Maria del Monte above Varese. sent on December 09, 2015 (22:19) by Massimo Schiavi. 28 comments, 829 views. [retina]

at 75mm, 1/10 f/6.3, ISO 800, hand held.

Santa Maria del Monte is always her good figure. I thought it was done from behind the funicular before reading the title of the gallery, but I was wrong then and then. Regarding the b / w I do not mind at all, but ... I find it well contrasted as I like. The only drawback, if you will, is a slight blur, but with 1/10 and 75mm on APS-C handheld is very difficult to ask for more. Compliments!

Beautiful! Really collected and contemplative this your Sacred Mountain! As for advice on B / N I propose this:
www.mora-foto.it/tutorial_gimp/tutorial_gimp.html

true for Gimp but I'm sure PhotoShop has similar commands .. I easily found the right commands in PaintShop!
As you can see in paragraph 16 are tips on B / N

Thanks Giorgio am just glad that my shooting returned in B & N you enjoyed it. I remember an old postcard that he sent to friends when, as a child and the family, they went up to the Holy Mount tram and then the funicular to enjoy a day of celebration. The tram has not existed for more than fifty years and the funicular, completely redone, only works in fits and starts!
Best wishes and good day!

Dear Mirko, thanks to the appreciation of this shot. Yes, shooting suffers from a slight blur, and actually laziness is the cause of this because, to remove the bushes that I had in front of the village, I had to go down a bit 'in a scarpatella and I have taken the stand that well I had and I used to so many other shots! : - | : - |
Bye and have a good day !

Dear Pussycat, thanks for your comment on this shot in B & W.
Thanks for the link to the tutorial on editing program that I will not fail to consult and to apply. I'm really happy that in the comments to my photos do not find only the "good" "nice shot" "wonderful" and so on. Oh God, it's not that I do not like it, but are the comments that help me to improve those that are most useful to me.
So a double thanks Micio!
Best wishes and a good day!

I really like it !!
If in the picture there was a Fiat 600 that climbs to the road would seem taken 50 years ago!
That's what fascinated me ... and filled with memories ...
Best wishes!

What is wonderful about these ancient villages is that, except filth of responsible building of the municipalities of which they are part (and, fortunately this is not the case), it can be expanded with new buildings and, therefore, have retained the historical memory of their origins. To our great fortune!
Silvio Thanks for the welcome comments and we wish you a good week!

Well, the picture is there since I published. I know you're not a lover of B & N, and frankly, I have to go a long way to make good my photos in B & W, but I wanted to do and to follow the wave of memories of old postcards and comments to posts friends (see caption) and to differentiate it from a picture almost like you've posted on your page (see caption).
Thanks for the compliment (I do not know how much deserved!) And a warm greeting!
