Margherita, figlia del signore del castello di Tures, secondo la leggenda si innamora del Capitano del castello. La giovane decide di propria iniziativa di prendere in sposo l'amato, realizzando il proprio desiderio di nozze, sebbene il vescovo principe di Bressanone, zio e tutore, non approvi la decisione. Immediatamente prima del matrimonio lo sposo viene colpito da una freccia avvelenata e muore tra le braccia di Margherita, che si precipita a serrarsi nelle proprie stanze. Per giorni e giorni il suo sguardo fissa i boschi, la cima della montagna innevata e il verde della valle lontana, alla ricerca del proprio amato. Ancora oggi, secondo il racconto della guida del castello, il suo spirito torna in tutte le camere da cui si osserva la valle, aggirandosi irrequieto per il castello per fermarsi a pregare nell'antica cappella, il luogo dell'orribile morte.
