You're being far more adventurous than I've ever been, I've never added anything to a photo or merged two together! This does have a light, Continental flavour which is attractive. I am going to have to mention the burnout from the sunlight and the uncorrected barrel distortion, most evident at the top, where the straight line is curved. These points may well be accepted/not noticed by many and I could be picnicking and overall it is a nice cultured study of modern London. And I'm not sure that is PhotoArt, simply because you merged some elements together. |

Thanks, Tim! I've just discovered a part of the 'merge' menu in Elements that I'd not seen before, so I thought I'd have a go. My first attempt with it, so I'm fairly pleased because I can't detect where it's been joined. I'd not noticed the barrel distortion, so thanks for pointing it out. Correcting distortion is fairly new to me, too..... I'm not so sure about the burnout. I've just reviewed it in Lightroom and it only shows the small square towards the middle at the top of the image - is that the section you mean? |

Your 18-300mm will have as much barrel distortion at the wide end as the 10-24mm! So, expect it. But, of course, you only need to correct it if it's noticeable, as with architecture. It should be obvious that the light spillage on the tiled floor is very light, though looking again, it has a little colour retained. My style would have been to make the whole of the left side darker and the light stream more contrasty - that way perhaps that light wouldn't seem as pale. As for that bright square at the top, some might say that it should be cropped/cloned out, but I realise that is probably taking the project far further than what you originally wanted or intended. And yes, you wouldn't know that the two girls weren't there at the same time and that WAS your project, so complete success on that! Should be half reasonable weather in the morning?! |

Ha! I nearly did crop the top off but decided I preferred it in. Of course I was aware that the light spillage was very light but I was happy with that, although a little more contrast wouldn't go amiss. I'm not sure I know how to darken down just the left side of the image. I darkened the sky in another image earlier this evening (also for the first time), so perhaps I can use the same tool..... Thanks for giving your thoughts on this, Tim! |

It gives rain here at 7 am but sun during the afternoon, so I think I'll be aiming for then to be out with my camera. |

I'm going for some muddy hill walking on the Marlborough Downs. It clears by the time the bus (eventually) gets there and I am after some mixed weather dramatic landscapes, prob for black and white. I think I'd like to high up today and with no one around. Just me and the wind and a few sheep (and no feeble tripod!) |

Goodness me, Vittorio - so there is!!! How did I not notice that?! Thank you so much for pointing it out (and for 'liking' it anyway!:)) I will have another go..... |
