Ideata e realizzata da Filippo Juvarra nel 1717-1731, è dedicata alla natività di Maria e sede delle tombe reali. Fu eretta, secondo la tradizione, per volontà di Vittorio Amedeo II a compimento di un voto dopo la vittoria del 1706 sui francesi. La scelta del luogo, collegato visivamente alla reggia di Rivoli, doveva sottolineare la dignità regale di casa Savoia acquisita dopo il trattato di Utrecht (1713). La chiesa, a pianta circolare, è sovrastata dalla cupola alta 75 metri e affiancata da due campanili alti 60 metri. Un'imponente pronao a otto colonne corinzie precede la facciata. All'interno la decorazione a stucco e il marmo degli altari e del pavimento creano scenografici effetti di luce. L'altare maggiore, la cui cornice fu disegnata da Filippo Juvarra, è arricchito da un bassorilievo marmoreo di Bernardino Cametti che rievoca la gloriosa battaglia per la liberazione di Torino. Pitture e sculture del Beaumont, di Sebastiano Ricci, di Carlo Antonio Tantardini, di Bernardino Cametti e di Agostino Cornacchini ornano le cappelle laterali.
