I'm not too sure about this one Ann. It needs a lot more depth of field, to get all the posts sharp, or a lot less, for selective focus. Your shutter speed certainly indicates the potential for slower speed, smaller aperture. It certainly is a landscape though! |

Possibly more depth of field but I don't think it would have worked so well for selective focus. It was freezing cold and my tripod was somewhere in the depths of my car - I wasn't lingering long to experiment! |

But after making all that effort getting there, in obviously cold environment, not to take a few more shots. Consider it less as mere experimenting, more as routine. You never know, you can't choose at the time and a few extra seconds can make a rather average shot into something more. (in my opinion, of course) |

I do have several other shots - I did not mean to imply that I had only taken one - merely that I didn't linger longer than I thought necessary - I seldom take one photo in isolation. Having looked at them again, there is one that has sharper foreground focus that I suspect may appeal to you more. |

Not posted anything for a few days, Ann? I do so hope I haven't put you off?! |

It's okay, Tim - I'm not easily put off. It's just that I have a lot of pressures on my time at the moment, having been away from home for two and a half weeks. In fact I haven't actually been at home much since I got back! |

I might have seemed harsh. Over-tired and competing with highly paid pros at the wedding and where every 1000 photos I took were a compromise, where the aperture and shutter and iso was essential and carefully considered. I do apologise. |

Thank you, Tim - that is kind of you and very much appreciated. The wedding must have been exhausting as I know that you will have set yourself very high standards! I am also confident that you will have produced many beautiful images and delivered the personal touch that the professionals will not have been able to, unless they also know the bride personally! |

The latest (of the three now up on Juza) was because the young subject wasn't sure if she recognised me, or not... |

An image with many possible meanings and no one, unfortunately, beautiful. The picture is very beautiful and dramatic with this diagonal cut and the fence that goes missing on the horizon by always dividing something ... that human or animal communities are still a division! The frost of the environment increases the dramatic way. I wonder how it would be white / black. Very good. Chissà come sarebbe in bianco/nero. Bravissima. Ciao Gabriele |
