beautiful Rosetta :-) thank you for shooting data, is a subject on which I show its skills in short and I was very helpful to know that depict just perfectly with the Nikon 300 8-)

Buone riprese !!
Marco

Dexter Hello, thanks for the appreciation!
Regarding the shooting data, considering that I did the recovery from Lignan, based observatory of the Aosta Valley at about 1,600 meters above sea level (above Nus), where light pollution is very low and the night was clear.
I took several times the Rosetta from home (in Volpiano, Turin area north) but, due to light pollution and moisture in the air, I never got such good results ... decosorosi, yes, but with less haze 'soft'.
It can, however, help the use of a filter against light pollution (I use the Astronomik EOS Clip-UHC-E) that can lengthen the exposure by improving the contrast between red nebulaand sky background.
Finally, the Rosetta I posted a picture clipping from 8Mpixel shot with the Canon 20Da, reducing the height and width of about 30%.
I constantly use the 300 for Nikon astrophoto wide field and tell you that I find the perfect focal length ... the objects are visible and you can cut the edge of the image (where stacking sometimes leaves less regular bands) without penalizing the shot.
Good times !!
Marco

again thanks for the info :-) I (when I -D) I go to the Pollino massif at 1,800 meters. and even there the seeing is very good ;-) with 300 so far I have done some testing right but I must say that I am finding already at ease, holding among other things that you described very well the lighter crop too 8-)

greetings and congratulations again :-)
