Colori d'Autunno presso il Ponte della Fola Di origini romaniche, probabilmente costruito nel tardo medioevo, il Ponte della Fola si trova al confine tra Groppo, frazione di Riolunato, e Pievepelago, scavalcando all'uscita della Conca di Pievepelago il torrente Scoltenna prima che questo si inabissi nella forra che per secoli ha costituto un ostacolo per le comunicazioni, dato che il passaggio era possibile solamente presso il ponte di Strettara. Enormi erano le difficoltà nell'attraversare i corsi d'acqua, in particolare perché privi di sbarramenti, tanto che i guadi erano vegliati da edicole sacre e croci. Il settore appenninico modenese ha sempre avuto un ruolo cruciale nei traffici tra l'area padana e la Toscana, specialmente verso la zona di Lucca e la piana di Pistoia. Suggestivo per la struttura ad arcate asimmetriche e a forma di schiena d'asino, mostra alcune interessanti analogie con il ponte toscano di Borgo a Mozzano e con quello delle Lazze, forse una testimonianza della breve dominazione lucchese nell'Alto Frignano durante il XIV secolo, anche se il primo documento in cui si parla del ponte risale al 1028. Ha la particolarità di essere l'unico esempio noto di ponte di pietra a due arcate in tutta l'Emilia. Ulteriormente rimarchevole se si pensa che la costruzione di ponti in pietra, molto costosa, richiedeva maestranze specializzate, e per questo vi si dava corso soltanto su precisa volontà delle comunità interessate e dei governanti. La perizia con la quale furono progettate e costruite le sue arcate fece nascere leggende con monaci e demoni, in quanto, essendo perlopiù perdute le nozioni tecniche romane al di fuori dei conventi, si riteneva che simili opere non potessero essere frutto dell'ingegno di un uomo. A Pievepelago si narra quindi che un frate raggirò i demoni facendogli costruire il ponte.
