Ciao Carlo, my compliments on this great image! Very beautiful species this eagle, as well as the other pictures in your gallery! When it comes to identification, I also suspect this bird to be a Tawny Eagle (Aquila rapax) rather than a Steppe Eagle (Aquila nipalensis). The light coloured feathers are more common in Tawny Eagle and Steppe Eagle has usually a more dark brown coloured plumage. The distribution area of these 2 eagles is very large, and they can both occur in Tanzania. They are however 2 related species, so confusion between these 2 is nothing strange! Very well done, and good luck on your photography! Kind regards, Hans |
