L'Antica Chiesa parrocchiale era assai povera e semplice: essa rimase fino alla metà del ?700 coperta da un semplice soffitto in legno. Sulla fine di quel medesimo secolo era in misere condizioni e ad aggravarle avvenne il terremoto del 1808, sicchè la chiesa fu ridotta ad essere non solo più decente, ma pericolosa per il popolo. Nel marzo del 1816 partiva da Osasco alla volta di Torino la supplica per la costruzione della nuova Chiesa. Essa, diretta a Sua Maestà, sarebbe stata presentata alla segreteria di Stato dal Conte Enrico Cacherano di Osasco. Dalle lettere appunto di questo illustre personaggio, risulta che sulle prima il parroco aveva trovato difficoltà da parte del popolo, forse perché pareva troppo grandioso il progetto. Ma le difficoltà furono superate ed il popolo diede un grande esempio di fede. Nell'aprile del 1817 si iniziò la costruzione della Chiesa, della quale aveva gratuitamente fatto il disegno l'Architetto Ceroni per mezzo del Conte Enrico. Si fecero le fornaci nel "campo Borri" poco lontano dal mulino, ed agli operai che lavoravano lungo la settimana si aggiungeva la domenica il popolo. Essa venne a costare 31.000 lire, delle quali 15.000 furono pagate dalla famiglia dei conti Cacherano d'Osasco, 6.000 dal Regio Economato, 3.000 dal Parroco, 2.000 dal sig. Amedeo Rocca ed il restante da tutto il popolo osaschese, il quale non potendo far molto perché ridotto dalle passate guerre in grande povertà, offrì in luogo del denaro le sue robuste braccia e la sua buona volontà. Ben sette anni durarono i lavori dal 1817 al 1824. Nel 1825 si iniziò la costruzione del campanile, che venne a costare lire 4.200. La nuova chiesa in stile Rinascimento, riuscì maestosa. Tutti i parroci, che seguirono, ebbero cura di renderla sempre più bella. Nel 1888 essa per la munificenza della signora Cristina Carlo Demarchi, del Cav. G.B. Bruera e della Compagnia del SS Sacramento fu dipinta con squisito senso artistico dal pittore Lauro, sui disegni del Morgari. Nel 1915 il Parroco Don Granero faceva porre i gradini in marmo all'Altare maggiore e nel 1924 ai due Altari laterali e faceva pavimentare in mattonelle alla veneziana i due rispettivi presbiteri. Successivamente il parroco Don Simone Molinero, con il concorso di tutta la popolazione, la arricchì di un pregevole organo della ditta Cav. F. Vegezzi Bozzi e figlio di Centallo.
