In my humble opinion, one of the most stunning views in any religious building I've visited - and that's a few! My medium long macro lens provides a surprisingly effective objective - no distortion and optically stabilised, so good in low light, whilst delivering good sharpness near maximum aperture. #Churches

Thank you Vittorio - but what is wrong with the objective?! It did the job, is sharp from corner to corner... if I could have afforded the Nikon equivalent I would surely have done so, but I couldn't, and haven't!

Very beautiful and very clear detail in low light!
I was trying this lens, or one very similar, in Castle Cameras today. No second hand macros in and no emailing list, should one come in, either! But it sounds like you think the Nikon is better. I admit I rather have my heart set on the Nikon......

Thank you Ann. The Nikon is twice the price. And I've never actually tried one out, so cannot actually say but generally, I found I wasn't using this lens enough as a macro (not really my subject) before finding it was quite useful for church interiors. I would guess that any differences between images taken with the two would be small, if any, in practical viewing, apart from prestige and for selling on again. David M has the Nikon but it's just too far out of my price league.
