L'accoppiamento delle mantidi è caratterizzato da cannibalismo post-nuziale: la femmina, dopo essersi accoppiata, o anche durante l'atto, divora il maschio partendo dalla testa mentre gli organi genitali proseguono nell'accoppiamento.
