King of Rome, is that where the 'friends activity' normally is? That's showing on mine. But there is advertising space on the right on this page. Not sure I can help you further other than to email Juza for admin support?

Lovely shot of the autumn leaves. I like that you chose to present just the one red leaf upon a bed of golds and browns.

There was only one red one and that was the only leaf I moved and placed down again loosely and then shot at different angles etc. Have you noticed which lens was used? Are you still interested in one day acquiring one?

I am still interested in buying a macro. I bought extension tubes in the meantime which are supposed to work with my camera and autofocus lenses but am not having much success with them.

Gorgeous image.

Extension tubes will only really work with fixed lenses, such as standard 50mm's, not zooms and you lose AF, whatever the manufacturers tell you to the contrary. You'll have more success with your 35mm f1.8 DX but you will be incredibly close to your subject. I have used extension tubes all through my photographic life and they remain difficult and awkward to use and I wouldn't recommend them. However, if you combine all tubes with a life-size 1:1 macro lens, five times life size is achievable. As I said before, don't try and achieve too much too quickly Ann, though I still think you'd have been far better off getting an old Sigma/Tamron/Tokina AF macro for 100 quid or so than tubes.

I still think that's your best bet now, as my Sigma is heavy, quite expensive and technically more advanced than what is needed for most of what I use it for. As I already said, I actually use it more as a fastish 105mm normal lens that is stabilised. (I'd just come from shooting interiors in the cathedral). Stabilisation is much less effective at higher magnification ratios - not something they tell you, not exactly a con but but a characteristic of all such lenses, apparently, from all lensmakers.

Thank you Larry!

I tried them with my 35 mm lens but with zero success so far and, surprisingly, marginally more success with the zoom. I am very tempted to go for a macro but am hesitant to trust a second hand one. Thanks for your advice, Tim.
