, 1/160 f/5.6, ISO 100, hand held. New Forest National Park, United Kingdom.

Having waited some 4 hours for the sun to finally appear on Saturday, I snapped away with this old manual focus Nikkor prime 28mm lens. After about 30 minutes of getting OK woodland scenes I suddenly stumbled on this - the sun through a slight mist at 1pm! I took shots at every aperture and with much exposure compensating, as they say, you only have to make the best whilst it lasts. One thing you can say though is, that you cannot fault the Nikon's multicoating - almost no flare whatsoever. #Autumn

Beautiful light streaming through the leaves and backlighting the branches, Tim! Such a great contrast with the glimpsed depths beyond, suggesting that is an entrance to a special and mysterious place.

I'm so glad all that came across Ann, that was my intention. I was standing on - and trying to move around - a rather boggy area and so it was a bit of a pain, but it shows that being off the beaten track and in the very depths of the ancient woodland can reap its rewards.

I was pretty sure that was your intention, Tim, and I'm not at all surprised to hear that you were having to pick your way around a boggy patch :))
I was getting up close and personal with a derelict building today, although my image is too close for you to know that. Before you tell me that you don't like images that have had individual colours selected, this one has not. I brightened the green but the rest simply was grey!

You'll see that I already commented on that one before reading this. And to the contrary, I don't actually dislike selective colouring per se, some subjects suit it, many don't!

Thank you, Tim - I see that you have! I agree with you about selective colouring - sometimes I find it works.
Did you see my London shot? (not that you can really tell that it is London!)

Oops! I see that you have already commented on that one, too!
