Veduta delle montagne condovesi dalla chiesa del Comune di Chiusa di San Michele. Lo spartiacque di una corona di vette delimita i confini superiori del Comune di Condove e rispettivamente da sinistra a destra: la Rocca Patanua metri 2410, la Punta Lunella metri 2778, la Cima Adois metri 2505, la Punta di Grifone metri 2404, la Punta Sbaron metri 2223, il massiccio del Civrari con la punta Imperatoria metri 2302 e la punta della Croce metri 2234. Da lassù, proprio dove il cielo tocca la montagna, gli orizzonti si allargano su un anfiteatro che va dalle Alpi Cozie, su cui troneggia la vetta del Monviso, alle Alpi del Delfinato , alle montagne della Valle di Lanzo, e agli imponenti massicci del Gran Paradiso e del Monte Rosa. Tra le depressioni che dividono le vette di questa catena montuosa, due colli sono importanti punti di valico intervallivo Susa - Lanzo: il Colle della Portia , metri 2190, che collega Condove ad Usseglio; il Collombardo , metri 1888, che consente l'accesso a Lemie , dal 1972 anche con strada carrozzabile; la sua denominazione è di antichissima data, intorno all'anno 570, periodo in cui Carlo Magno sconfisse l'esercito di Re Desiderio nella battaglia delle Chiuse in fondovalle: i longobardi incalzati dall'esercito francese si ritirarono in questa località, appunto Colle dei Longobardi ed in seguito Collombardo.
