Many folk think that they sleep on the ground, as that is where they're most often seen, stooping around like old haggered detectives wearing ill-fitting overcoats... |

Oh, I do see them in trees - nesting - but I don't think I've seen more than three of them at a time. When I was in Uganda, I saw a whole tree full of crested cranes (the national symbol) - very unusual and exciting! |
