Harmonia axyridis (Pallas, 1773), nota comunemente come "Coccinella arlecchino" o "Asian Lady Beetle" , è un coleottero alloctono per gli insetti italiani. Originaria del continente asiatico, a partire dal 1916, per la sua spiccata capacità predatoria a carico degli afidi delle piante, è stata via via introdotta in altre aree geografiche per contrastare con tecniche biologiche i suddetti fitofagi. Può avere le Elitre gialle, nere, rosse, gialle con macchie nere, nere con due o quattro macchie rosse, rosse con macchie nere. Mentre capo e pronoto sono neri con disegni biancastri. Si nutre di afidi, ma anche di larve di insetti utili e delle più piccole coccinelle autoctone. Diventa una calamità per i vigneti, perchè durante la vendemmia tende a rifugiarsi tra i grappoli, rilasciando una sostanza dall'odore molto sgradevole che altera il sapore e l'odore del vino stesso.
