The Serpentine, the lake in west London's Hyde Park, at lunchtime, for the local birdlife! Used very small aperture to create movement from their wing movement, compensated by the lens' VR stabilising system. |

Like the sense of movement in this and the strip of autumn colour. I saw lots of autumn colour today - many photos to process...... |

Yes, I noticed, trust you had a good day a la Stourhead!? |

I had a great time, thanks, although not long enough! It's been a really good day altogether. I've just joined my first camera club (3 weeks ago) because I thought it may be helpful to spend time with those more knowledgeable than myself and submitted my first two images for competition this evening with rather pleasing results - a 9 and a 9 1/2 - very encouraging!:)) |

Ooo - ooh! Look at You! I always recommend camera clubs especially when setting out on this photographic journey as you learn much faster if it's fun and sociable. Online virtual contact has its benefits - in my days of clubs, computers didn't exist, let alone internet photo sites! And as for Photoshop, that'd be the thing of science fiction! Two excellent scores there, too! Let's see if you can keep it up... |

Thanks, Tim :)) I've learned a great deal from online contact with people like yourself but the club has already proved to be very helpful - a really welcoming and supportive bunch of people and there is a mix of competition nights and various talks, so very interesting and informative. I think it will be pretty difficult to repeat those scores but it feels good to start on a high...... |

But certainly a good boost to your moral when you need it, good luck! |
