si hai ragione, credo che a pc la stringero' per togliere la parte superiore, non so per quale motivo ma mi capita sempre di lasciare molto margine in alto quando scatto, sia in viaggio per che lavoro nello sport.. bah mistero

a me il punto di ripresa piace tantissimo, lo uso anche io a volte e serve a dare grande espressività alla foto..
l "errore" lo hai individuato proprio tu, troppa aria sopra e inevitabilmente mani tagliate.. le mani sono importantissime in un ritratto! ovviamente sono pensieri miei basati sul nulla, solo sul mio gusto!

ho imparato ad usare il fisso 35 in modo diverso, avvicinandomi molto al soggetto anche se non è sempre facile tenere a 1.8 la messa a fuoco ottimale..

Anche a me il taglio non fa impazzire.
Visto che probabilmente anche nel fotogramma originale non ci sono le mani, allora potresti provare a stringere ancora di più sul volto. Un crop non esagerato potrebbe distogliere dalla mancanza delle mani ma potrebbe ancora far percepire sia la prospettiva che lo sfuocato.
