Una maestosa supercella di tipo "LP" (Low Precipitation) fotografata vicino alla città di Rapid City (South Dakota). Le poche precipitazioni presenti alla base del temporale erano costituite soprattutto da grandine, favorita nella sua formazione dall'intrusione d'aria secca che spingeva dalle montagne rocciose. Proprio questo fronte d'aria secca favoriva ampie delle schiarite appena dietro il cumulonembo, queste ultime erano attraversate dal sole che si avviava ormai al tramonto, rendendo i contrasti particolarmente spettacolari.
