La leggenda narra che Guru Rimpoche lo raggiunse in volo cavalcando una tigre per sottomettere un demone locale è si fermò per tre masi a meditare. questo splendido monastero è arroccato sulla parete di uno sperone roccioso a 3000m. sopra una foresta di pini.
