Abbazia di S. Liberatore a Majella. L'Abbazia si trova nel territorio del comune di Serramonacesca, in prov. di Pescara. Le prime indicazioni, non certe, fanno risalire la presenza dell'Abbazia, intorno all'800 (anno 798), ma è solo nella seconda metà del sec. IX (856-883) che vi sono indicazioni scritte nelle "Croniche Cassinesi" Intorno all'anno 1000, la fabbrica dell'Abbazia ne concretizza quella che, presumibilmente, sarà la forma definitiva e praticamente giunta, seppur con lavori di bonifica e ripristino, fino ai giorni nostri.
