Now, that's a real beauty! (But watch your shutter speeds - iso 100 is all well and good but shaky pictures are useless!) Nice composition too. The bug I had/have came back at me with a vengeance today, so only shots I got was of the Harvest flowers in St Thomas' church, where I was also able to test the new little lens. But I felt so ill I came home and went to bed! (And so missed this fab sunset) ps You say Pier, but it looks like over from Sandbanks ferry terminal? |

Thanks, Tim! And thanks for the advice - I am still doing lots of experimenting with different settings and am yet to feel even remotely confident in my choices! Sorry to hear you're still not well - I hope you manage to shake off that bug really quickly! I'm still battling a chest infection which started as a simple cold/cough two and a half weeks ago! A tendency to get up and out for sunrise probably hasn't helped..... |

It was taken at Lake Pier in Hamworthy. It's a very recent discovery of mine and something of a hidden gem. Yesterday's photo was taken there, too, and I think it is likely that I will revisit there often, especially for sunsets! |

That explains it! Thanks for that info, not a place I can get to easily of course, especially coming back from at such time, except perhaps in the depths of winter. But I have done a bit of explorative walking around those points this past summer and there are some great locations, as you say. |
