Il monte Bego è una montagna delle Alpi Marittime compresa nel parco nazionale del Mercantour. Le zone circostanti , in particolare la Valle delle Meraviglie e Fontanalba , sono luoghi ricchi di incisioni rupestri , oltre 35000 , soprattutto su rocce piatte . Le incisioni picchiettate sono attribuibili alla preistoria ( dal Neolitico all'antica età del Bronzo , 3500 - 1500 a. C. ) ; si diffondono oltre i 2000 m. di quota , fino a 2500 - 2600 m. .
