Durante la mia ultima escursione sui crateri sommitali dell'Etna, sono riuscito a fotografare questa bellissima fumarola che avevo già visto immortalata da Boris Behncke, simpaticissimo e competente ricercatore dell'INGV di Catania. Tedesco che per il suo grande amore per l'Etna ha deciso di trasferirsi da noi in Sicilia. Appena osservata me ne sono innamorato perché è diversa rispetto ad altre fumarole incontrate: oltre al giallo tipico dello zolfo, quello che la rende affascinante sono quelle 'concrezioni minerali' verde smeraldo che, oltra ad avere una bellissima struttura, conferiscono al tutto un aspetto davvero ammaliante. Dulcis in fundo, a completare cromaticamente l'opera, il rossore che vedete in foto non è dovuto alla presenza di magma sottostante (come si potrebbe pensare), bensì ai gas che fuoriescono ad una tale temperatura da arroventare la roccia del condotto. Inutile dire che per riprenderla ho dovuto usare il teleobiettivo a causa delle folate di gas caldissimo. Sintomo che in questo momento c'è energia, difficile però stabilire quando partirà un'altra fase eruttiva. [TEMA NERO per la visualizzazione] #Vulcani #Etna #Sicilia
