Passata la bufera di ieri sera questo è il paesaggio che si presentava stamattina con il monte Rocciamelone già tutto innevato. In primo piano troviamo i ruderi del castello di Avigliana costruito nel 924 dal marchese di Torino Arduino il Glabro. Innumerevoli volte distrutto e saccheggiato (Federico Barbarossa uno dei tanti) da fine 1600 non fu più ricostruito a causa della mutata situazione strategica della zona.
