Varcata la porta della cattedrale incontriamo il primo dei capolavori del tempio: i magnifici rilievi pieni di splendore che sono nella parte posteriore del coro. Situati nel mezzo della navata centrale dividono il coro dal resto della navata. Si commissionò il lavoro a Juan Rodriguez e Lucas Giraldo i quali avevano già lavorato in altre opere della cattedrale. I temi sviluppati in questa scultura sono i seguenti: tre rilevi grandi rappresentanti la Presentazione di Cristo al Tempio, l'Adorazione dei Re Magi, tema centrale in cui spiccano i visi del re nero e del suo paggio, e la Strage degli Innocenti. Le sculture intermedie sono più piccole e sono divise da due colonne dalle altre. Rappresentano la Fuga in Egitto e la Visitazione da una parte, mentre dall'altra sono Gesù tra i Dottori e l'Abbraccio di San Giacomo e di Sant'Anna. Tutta la scultura, in stile rinascimentale, è caratterizzata dal forte realismo e dalla forte espressività dei personaggi, il fregio superiore rappresenta magnifiche figure in movimento. Nella parte centrale, tra numerosi grotteschi, appare benedicente il busto del Padre Eterno. Infine nelle nicchie laterali sono scolpite le figure di San Pietro e Paolo a destra e di San Giovanni a sinistra. la piccola inferriata che protegge l'opera risale al XVIII secolo. In alto un arco unisce le due colonne della navata centrale e rinforza il coro. Si completa il tutto con una splendida scultura lignea del Cristo Crocefisso.
